Shelby Houghton (she/her) is a graduating senior studying human rights, political science, and economics at the University of Connecticut. She believes that human rights perspectives are the future of United States legislation, most significantly for corportate social responsibility legislation, womens’ and LGBTQ+ rights, and sexual violence justice.

Her public service interests have brought her to work with Senator Maggie Hassan, Senator Chris Murphy, the NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, and OutRight Action International. She is also the Director and Founder of Rest is Revolution, a community wellness and social justice project that introduces rest as a form of social change to young people. When she isn’t moving and shaking, she adores enjoying coffee, playing music, and being with her friends.
