May Shin Thant was born and raised in Yangon, Myanmar. She graduated from high school in 2020 and has written plays at a beginner author level based on her school-year experiences in Myanmar. After high school graduation, she first enrolled in the University of Medicine (1), Yangon but due to political situations in Myanmar, she joined the civil disobedience movement and consequently, experienced gap years in her education pursuits. Presently, she is an undergraduate student enrolled at Parami University where she is currently in her sophomore year of studies. She is interested in discussing inequalities based on sex in Myanmar. She also likes to learn about different cultures and languages while broadening her linguistic skills. She is currently learning Korean and Japanese. She is also a member of the medical journal club and an amateur artist. While she was in high school, she is a valued member of the art club especially in the watercolor traditional art. She has continued her education journey with diverse interests such as inequalities and health issues that often intertwine with her passion for playwriting and storytelling.
