Jessica Halsey is a graduating senior pursuing a degree in English Literature with a minor in Philosophy at Tuskegee University. Her concentration is in Modern and Postmodern African American Literature. Jessica has presented her research at the 2022 SERSAS and SEAN conference. She is a member of the 2022 Moore Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she analyzed jazz motifs in modern African American and Japanese literature. At Tuskegee University, Jessica is a Journalist for the TU Campus Digest and focuses on highlighting Black excellence on campus. After completing her undergraduate studies, she aims to earn her PhD in Comparative Literature and become a professor at a research-focused institution.
