Juliana Maitenaz is a fifth year dual degree conservatory student at Bard College studying global international studies and percussion performance. She has completed studies both in New York City at the Bard Globalization International Affairs program and in Berlin. She is a John Cage Trust Scholar and a writing tutor for the Bard Prison Initiative. Juliana wrote her undergraduate thesis about the transformation of percussion from an instrument of military force to one of cultural diplomacy, and is graduating with her degrees in May 2022.
